Building a routine

A complete facial routine has four fixed steps and one optional one. Cleanse morning and evening. Apply treatment products — serums, ampoules, concentrates — to clean skin, thinnest texture first. Moisturise to seal. Protect with SPF every morning, without exception. Masks and exfoliants sit outside this sequence, used once or twice weekly rather than daily.

Introduce new actives one at a time and allow four to six weeks before judging results — a full skin renewal cycle takes about that long. Combining several strong actives at once is the most common reason a routine irritates rather than improves. Body and hair follow the same principle: consistency over intensity.
